Who are the communities team at Thirteen and what do they do?

We want to help our local people create great places to live, but each community is unique and has its own challenges. So, we’ve created locality plans for six areas across Teesside where we can tailor our approach and provide community resources.

What will the money be used for?

Following a community consultation and working with your local councillor, our three priorities for the year are:

    1. Continue to strengthen existing community assets
    2. Improving life chances - linked to money in pockets and employment and skills
    3. Improving the local environment with a focus on garden condition, open spaces and fly-tipping

Therefore, money will be given to groups who’s project will aim to achieve these goals.

Can I nominate a community group or project from outside of Newtown?

Yes! You can nominate any Stockton-based community group; however, we want them to use the money on a project which will benefit the Newtown area.

How can I be more involved where I live?

Getting involved with Thirteen means you can have your say about the things that matter to you the most as a customer. We want to get things right and make sure our services meet your expectations.

As an involved customer, you can help us to improve services and influence the decisions that affect your community. Find out more about getting involved by clicking here

Can I nominate a community project going on in a school?

Yes! You can nominate any project ongoing in a school, church or similar, community centre or a sports team in the Newtown area.

How and when will you decide on a winner?

As well as using results from ‘Your Voice’, we will also host drop ins at Newtown Community Resource Centre each Friday from 11am-1pm where you can meet your community connector and cast your vote. We will review all votes and announce the winners on Friday 13th December 2024 on this page!
