On Tuesday 16 December we held our Good Neighbour Awards celebration, and we’re delighted to say it was a great success.

It was a warm, informal event that brought people together to recognise the people and community groups who make our neighbourhoods better places to live.

    ⭐Good Neighbour of the Year
    Winner: Barry Robson

Recognised for his kindness, respect, and the support he offers others. Barry goes above and beyond to create an inclusive neighbourhood and always put others first.

    Runner up: Andrea Peart

    ⭐Environmental Champion
    Winner: Emi Imai

Emi fully understands the responsibility we all have to protect our environment and does her part to both reduce her own environmental impact, as well as inspire and support others.

    Runner up: Matthew Ford-Huggins

    ⭐Young Community Hero
    Winner: Jimmy Usher

Jimmy has shown dedication, positive energy, and a real passion for improving life in his neighbourhood. He inspires other young people to be inclusive and respectful to others in their community, as well as the area in which they live.

Ellie, Jimmy’s mum, said: “I just wanted to say thank you to you all. We had a lovely time and Jimmy is so excited that he has won. He took his certificate in to school to show all his friends and teachers and he is super excited to spend his pennies! We are very proud of him and very grateful for the experience.”

    Runner up: Theo Rhead

    ⭐Community Group of the Year
    Winner: The Corner House Project

Celebrated for their teamwork and commitment to bringing people together, this group has created lasting benefits for their area.

The Corner House Project were delighted with their award and told us the voucher will be used to continue improving the Newtown space for young people living in the area.

    Runner up: Nancy’s diner

We’d like to thank everyone who nominated, attended the event or supported the awards in any way. You helped make this year’s celebration truly special.

Each winner received their prize, £250 for individual winners and £500 for the community group, as a small thank you for the big impact they’ve made.

We received brilliant feedback from guests, nominees and winners, and we can’t wait to do it all again next year.
